Here are some text resources with which translators and interpreters may hone their skills. Some resources have bilingual materials which are particularly helpful for English Chinese translation services.
1. The Economist
Most articles in The Economist are elegantly written, and translating them into another language just as elegantly will not be easy. This is what I used for the preparation of the American Translators Association (ATA) certification exam. If you are planning to take credential exams of a similar level, you may want to give it a try.
Please note that the articles in The Economist are mostly written in British English. Subscription may be required.

Parallel reading for English Chinese translators: Only accessible from the Chinese edition. Once you open an article in the Chinese Edition, look for the button “中英对照” on the top-right corner of the page. Click on it to view the English and Chinese versions side by side.
