We provide courts and law firms with premier Chinese legal translation services. Our Chinese legal translators handle a wide variety of legal documents, including, but not limited to:

  • Contracts and agreements
  • Complaints and Answers, etc.
  • Affidavits, including handwritten letters
  • Court forms (e.g., Domestic Relations Forms)
  • Court documents (e.g., Deferred Sentencing Agreements)
  • Specific statutes

We translate in both directions: Chinese to English and English to Chinese.

Our credentials: Chinese legal translation services

Our Chinese legal translators are both court certified and ATA certified. They not only have vast experience in legal translation, but also actively participate in continuing education related to translation, court interpretation, court procedures and law.

We hold our work to the highest standards. Our Chinese legal translation services use a three-step process by default. The proofreading fees by a second linguist are included in the quote, and the translations can be certified upon client’s request (with a minimum fee for the preparation of the Certification Letter).

The three-step process

  • Step 1: Chinese legal translator #1 translates the documents and reviews his/her own work;
  • Step 2: Chinese legal translator #2 proofreads the translations, and then returns track changes to Translator #1;
  • Step 3: Translator #1 reviews the edited version and consults with Translator #2 about the changes if necessary. If discrepancies persist between the two translators, the team will consult with Translators #3 and #4 before finalizing the translations.

The one-step process

If you do not wish the work to be proofread by a second translator, please inform us at the time of inquiry so that we can provide you with a quote for the one-step translation services.

  • Step 1 (the only step): Chinese legal translator #1 translates the documents and reviews his/her own work.

Please kindly note that we only certify translations that are the products of the three-step process.

Certification of accuracy

Only translations provided by us exclusively with the three-step process may be certified by The Pro Translation LLC.

If the client has requested a one-step translation and later requests the work to be certified, we need to complete Step 2 and Step 3 first: send the original translations to a Chinese legal translator different from the original translator, and then have the original translator review changes and finalize the translation. Additional fees will be assessed accordingly.

Due to time constraints, we can neither accommodate requests to proofread translations done by third parties, nor provide certification letters to translations done by third parties.
