Chinese Medical Translation Services

Chinese medical translation services certified
Premier Chinese medical translation services

We provide clients with professional Chinese medical translation services. Our Chinese medical translators handle a wide variety of medical documents, including, but not limited to:

  • Medical records
  • Healthcare brochures
  • Consent forms
  • Research protocols
  • Study reports
  • Websites

We translate in both directions: Chinese to English, and English to Chinese.

Our credentials: Chinese medical translation services

For medical translation services, we assign Chinese medical translators who are ATA certified for English to Chinese translation and hold advanced degrees in the biomedical fields.

For Chinese to English translation services, since there are no ATA certified Chinese to English translators, we assign a Chinese translator who is a native speaker of English as proofreader.

We provide both certified and uncertified copies of medical translations.

The three-step process: Certified Chinese medical translation services

For certified Chinese medical translation services, we assign at least two translators to work on the same document — one as a translator and the other as a proofreader.

We use a 3-step process for quality control in certified translations.

  • Step 1: Chinese medical translator #1 translates the documents and reviews his/her own work;
  • Step 2: Chinese medical translator #2 proofreads the translations, and then returns track changes to Translator #1;
  • Step 3: Translator #1 reviews the edited version and consults with Translator #2 about the changes if necessary. If discrepancies persist between the two translators, the team will consult with Translators #3 and #4 before finalizing the translations.

Upon client’s request, we can provide a Certification of Accuracy letter (with a minimum fee for the preparation of the letter).

The one-step process: Uncertified Chinese medical translation services

A less expensive service is the uncertified translation, for which we assign only one Chinese medical translator to work on your documents. The translator will check his or her own work, but there will not be a second translator as proofreader.

  • Step 1 (the only step): Chinese medical translator #1 translates the documents and reviews his/her own work.

Please kindly note that we only consider the work that has gone through the 3-step process as quality controlled; therefore, we do not provide certification for the work of a single translator.

Generally speaking, uncertified translations are not as accurate as certified ones. Even the best translators can overlook their own errors, but a fresh pair of eyes helps discern mistakes.

Need certified Chinese medical translations? Plan early

If you need to have the Chinese medical translations certified (when you need to submit the documents to court, the embassy, or other authorities, for example), please inform us up front at the time of inquiry, so that we can quote your project accordingly.

Due to the extra steps taken for certified medical translations, the turnaround is usually longer than that of uncertified. We encourage clients to plan early in order to allow our Chinese medical translators enough time as well as to avoid rush fees.
