Our life science translators hold advanced degrees in biomedical sciences, such as microbiology, neuroscience, and public health. Some are certified by the American Translators Association (ATA). We have accumulated 15+ years of experience in scientific writing, manuscript revision, publishing, literature research, and SCI paper reviewing.

The majority of our clients for Chinese to English life science translation services are physicians and researchers in hospitals, companies and research institutes in China who have written manuscripts in their basic research, clinical research or case studies, and would like to publish them in English journals.
Clients provide us their manuscripts in Chinese, and we provide them the translations in English. The authors will then review the translations and consult with us about any questions they may have. Our translators will then make changes based upon the authors’ input before finalizing the translation.
We also have clients who need to have previously published articles translated into English or Chinese to facilitate their research or build databases. This involves a relatively simple process and a quicker turnaround, since it does not involve the editing of the originals.
Tips for clients: Scientific translation services
You have probably heard of “garbage in, garbage out” in the research world. It also applies to translation. To increase the chances of getting published, the quality of the Chinese manuscripts should be up to par for publication.
- Review and check your Chinese manuscripts for typos, grammatical errors, and confusing or convoluted sentences.
- If more than one author has contributed to the writing, make sure you have a designated person or the first author integrate the different writing styles. Ensure all sections of the writing blend naturally and display a consistent style. Do not simply patch together several sections by different authors.
- Keep figure texts and legends as text. Do not burn them into images. Our translators do not reconstruct images or texts burned into images.
- Review and revise your Chinese manuscript until it is ready for submission to a Chinese journal. If the Chinese writing is ready for publishing — both grammatically and logically, then your chances of getting published in English journals would be much greater.
- If for some reason (per feedback from the journal editor, for example), you need to make changes after receiving our final translation, then you want to make sure that the new content is translated by professional translators, particularly when adding new data, figures, tables or texts. Turn on Track Changes feature before you make any changes, so that the translators can focus on the new content and assess fees accordingly.
We cannot stress this enough: when revisions are being made, get help from professional translators for the additional content. If the new sections are riddled with grammatical errors or misused words, even if in just a few sentences, the flaws really stand out and give an impression of sloppiness, which jeopardizes your chance of getting published.
